A Twitter election with consequences
Elon Musk has once again raised spirits around the world. On Friday (December 16, 2022) he put his position as CEO up for "election". And promptly (surprisingly :-) ) more than 57% voted against his remaining at the top of Twitter. Then there was silence from the otherwise chirping boss.
His answer, albeit belated, was not surprising for many... he stands - as so often before - by his promises!
Is it really that hard these days to find a boss who actually does what he says? I generally support his decisions, and I'm sure, as one of the smartest people on the planet, he thinks his decisions through carefully - often just faster than expected.
I formed my own opinion about Musk by reading several biographies and can only recommend that you take a look there. And since you're here, Steve Jobs and Jeff Besoz are also interesting characters whose bios contain real learning curves.

Farewell to video meetings - why the "video on" is counterproductive
Maria Tomprou, along with her colleagues, conducted a study to find out how "video on " affects participants in virtual meetings. There seems to be a definite connection. Neither the synchronicity of the facial expressions nor the collective intelligence is increased in video conferences. Instead, an audio-only conference seems to improve the conversational climate, create fewer distractions, and generally improve communication. And by the way, you can save bandwidth!
CONCLUSION: It's better to switch off the video and focus acoustically on the conversations.

Why paid YouTube advertising can harm influencers
In today's world, it pays to have an influencer on your side. Sure, the term might once have referred to a celebrity or someone with a large following on social media, but these days, companies of all sizes are harnessing the power of influencers to increase awareness and grow their business. However, too much paid advertising permanently weakens the influencers. If you post too many videos, your reputation will suffer. The smaller the fanbase, the smaller the effect.
TIP: As an influencer, the advertising should be in good proportion to the content actually created and authentically match the influencer.

Why the home office weakens sales
Remote working has grown in popularity recently, but not without significant downsides. A reduced sense of connection and commitment can be detrimental to negotiation success, as many professionals have learned firsthand. 70% feel more distant towards their virtual negotiation partner and 63% report worse relationships overall.
TIP: Small talk at the beginning of the virtual conversation can work wonders and significantly reduce the perceived distance.
